Elderberry syrup

Use

– For coughs

Ingredients

– 2.2 lb. (1 kg) of black elderberries

– 33.8 fl. oz. (1 liter) of boiling water

– 2.2 lb. (1 kg) sugar

Elderberry syrup

Preparation

– Boil 33.8 fl. oz. (1 liter) of water with 2.2 lb. (1 kg) of sugar for 10 minutes

– Add 2.2 lb. (1 kg) of elderberries (with the stems), leave boiling for 4 minutes

– Remove from heat, cover, let stand for at least 2 hours (or even overnight) before sieving

– Cook again and place in scalded (sterilized) bottles

Dosage

– Use 1 to 2 tablespoons (15-30 grams) of this syrup in hot tea (several times a day)
